So a little update, yesterday( Monday) I fixed and defined the SFX list that we will outsource. After that, I started my research on VFX to see what we will need in our game for it to not feel stale.
Our lead-designer was not here in the afternoon, so I was the substitute in the Lead meeting that we had with our handlers/ mentors. Afterward, I continued to look up the importance of VFX’s.
So today I started to make some mockups for the effects that should be in the game, I continued to look at references across the board throughout different genres of games to see what they have done with the VFX’s. I also began to make some mockups and descriptions of potential power-ups that we want to implement if we have time.
